Use Surplus Items When Selling Online

If there is one way to save a significant amount of money when sourcing products for you auctions is to get them in bulk.  Now you may be at odds with your spouse on this one unless you have a place that you can store these items (away from your house).  But if you intend to make a good ROI with your auctions it is almost a necessity to obtain your merchandise in this fashion.

But where do you go about finding these surplus items?  This is truly where you have to be careful.  There are a lot of scams on the internet that make claims that you can obtain surplus merchandise from them.  Check them out with the Better Business Bureau.  Make sure that they provide a phone number with which to call and go ahead and call them with any questions.  What you are looking for here is whether they were avoiding answering some of the tougher questions, etc.  Do a search online too.  Many times if people have been scammed they'll let the world know about it on a blog or two.  Just remember though.  Competitors of the surplus companies can post negative things about them so this has to be taken with a grain of salt.

One very reputable surplus company is Liquidation.com. You would be hard pressed not to find decent items to sell with this service.  It is an auction format so you can get some great deals.  This is perhaps the largest and most reliable on the net.

One thing to be aware of when buying liquidated items is that you are going to make the most money off of a few items.  That means the rest you are going to either not be able to sell or to sell at your own liquidation prices.  As long as you are able to make more than the entire lot that shouldn't be too much of a problem however.  The key is to know your prices and do your research.

Welcome to Discounts That Count!

I realized that the software that I used to capture and display my discounts and coupon codes is blocking the Wordpress blog.  So I decided to set on up here on Blogger.  I realized that I was getting a lot of emails from people asking if I had coupon codes for certain vendors and/or categories.  So I want you to be able to comment directly and I will check back from this blog to see what it is you are looking for.

If you are unfamiliar with coupon codes, they are codes created by your favorite vendors that when entered at the time of checkout, reduces the amount of the purchase.  You could think of them as a club that is exclusive to those that know about them.  You are now part of that club.  Welcome!

But searching for them can be a real time waster and that is why I decided to create Discounts That Count.  The best part is that it is free and you can start saving immediately by clicking on the link.
